Coldest Night of the Year
I’d like to invite you to join me for the Sources Community Resource Centres’s Coldest Night of the Year walk. In light of the pandemic Sources decided to host a virtual walk this year. What that means is you can walk close to home, through your favourite park, trail, or around your neighbourhood. Some route suggestions will be posted on the website, and you can walk on your own or with members of your safe bubble. The White Rock Coldest Night of the Year event will take place over 3 days, from Friday, February 19th to Sunday, February 21st, and you are welcome to walk whichever day works best for you. Proceeds from this year’s event will be applied strategically to programs and services that are in most critical need at this time: Sources Food Banks in White Rock/South Surrey and Langley, housing and advocacy services (including homelessness prevention services and Rent Bank), volunteer services and counselling/mental health services. Although we have to be apart this year, let’s walk together to help the homeless, hurt, and hungry in our community. Please join me and my team and let’s show everyone what a big heart our community has when it comes to helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
